Salty Gnome LLC builds focused macOS utilities that each solve one problem well, and family-friendly games for iPhone. Our apps are native SwiftUI, fully sandboxed, and make zero network connections — your data never leaves your device. No Electron, no telemetry, no subscriptions.

Both apps are available on the Mac App Store. You'll find download links on each app's product page — DiskPulse and SnapPulse.

Pricing will be announced when the apps launch on the Mac App Store. There are no subscriptions — any purchase is a one-time buy.

Gnome Swap is free to download, and the first 12 levels are free to play. A single one-time purchase ($0.99 in the US) unlocks all 60 levels — no subscriptions and no ads.

DiskPulse runs on macOS 14 (Sonoma) and later. SnapPulse requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) due to its use of the Apple Intelligence Foundation Models framework. Both apps run on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, though SnapPulse's AI features require Apple Silicon. Gnome Swap runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later.

Click the DiskPulse icon in your menu bar, choose Settings (or press ⌘,), then click + Add Folder. Navigate to any folder and click Select Folder. DiskPulse runs its first scan instantly. You can add as many folders as you need, including external drives.

New in v1.1 — each folder can have its own independent scan interval. Look for the "Scan Every" dropdown beneath each folder in Settings. Options range from 1 minute (for high-churn folders like Downloads) to 1 day (for cold storage like photo libraries). The default is 5 minutes.

The Ignore List filters out files and folders that would inflate your growth numbers with meaningless churn — things like .DS_Store, .cache, or node_modules. In Settings, scroll to Ignore List, type a filename, folder name, or extension, and press Enter. DiskPulse ships with .DS_Store, .Trash, and .git already filtered.

DiskPulse has two independent alert thresholds in Settings:

• Large File Alert — fires when any single new file exceeds your chosen size (100 MB, 500 MB, 1 GB, or 5 GB).
• Folder Growth Alert — fires when any monitored folder grows beyond your threshold in a single scan cycle.

Yes. In addition to scheduled scans, DiskPulse uses macOS's built-in file system events (FSEvents) to detect changes within seconds — so you always have a complete, up-to-the-moment picture even between scan intervals.

You can also empty Trash directly from the menu bar dropdown.

SnapPulse uses Apple's Vision framework to run optical character recognition (OCR) on every screenshot automatically. The text is categorized by screen region — top bar, sidebar, main content, etc. — with weighted scoring to prioritize the most meaningful content. QR codes and barcodes are detected too, including stylized codes with embedded logos.

All processing happens entirely on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.

SnapPulse identifies 8 types of structured data from the OCR-extracted text:

• Links/URLs — web addresses and domains
• Email addresses — ready to compose
• Phone numbers — ready to call
• Physical addresses — open in Apple Maps
• Codes — PINs, verification codes, alphanumeric sequences
• Dates — various date formats
• File paths — system file paths
• QR/Barcodes — decoded content with symbology indicators

Each entity type gets a visual badge on the screenshot card showing the count detected.

When SnapPulse detects entities, it generates one-click actions prioritized by urgency. The primary action button on each card automatically surfaces the most relevant one:

• Meeting links (highest priority) — join Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, WebEx, and more directly
• Codes/PINs — one-click copy to clipboard
• Addresses — open in Apple Maps
• Phone numbers — initiate a call
• Email addresses — compose a new message
• Web links — open in your default browser

SnapPulse automatically groups related screenshots into sessions based on time proximity (configurable, default 5-minute gap) and content similarity. Each session tracks start/end times, duration, and the domains you visited.

On Apple Silicon Macs with Apple Intelligence enabled, SnapPulse uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to generate smart session titles, natural language summaries, and key insights with action items. When Apple Intelligence isn't available, sessions fall back to domain-based titles.

Yes. The OCR engine extracts text regardless of language, and when Apple Intelligence generates a session summary, it produces the summary in your system language. So if you screenshot a German email, a Japanese product page, or a French article, you'll get an English summary (or whatever your Mac's language is set to) — no extra translation step needed.

SnapPulse uses perceptual hashing (dHash algorithm) to detect near-duplicate screenshots taken in quick succession. You can tune the behavior in Settings under the Duplicates tab:

• Similarity threshold — adjustable from 0.85 (aggressive) to 0.98 (conservative), default 0.90
• Time window — 30 seconds to 15 minutes, default 3 minutes

Duplicates are grouped visually with similarity percentages displayed.

Yes. Click Export OCR in the Dashboard toolbar and choose from four formats: plain text (.txt), CSV (.csv), JSON (.json), or Markdown (.md). Export works for individual screenshots or in batch across your current selection/filter.

No — auto-cleanup never deletes files from your disk. It only removes old entries from SnapPulse's internal tracking database. You can configure it to remove entries after 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, or cap the total count at 50, 100, 250, 500, or unlimited. Your actual screenshot files are never touched.

Yes. Click Scan Historical in the Dashboard toolbar to process all existing screenshots in your watched folders. SnapPulse will run OCR, detect entities, and add them to your dashboard just like newly captured screenshots.

Swap two gnomes that are next to each other to line up three or more wearing the same color hat. Each level shows its goals before you start and gives you a set number of moves. Complete every goal before you run out of moves to win, and score higher to earn up to three stars.

• Score — reach the target score with matches and combos.
• Collect — match a certain number of gnomes wearing one hat color.
• Salt — make matches on the salty tiles to scrub them clean. Thick salt needs two matches.
• Toadstools — make a match right next to a toadstool to knock it out.

• Salt Shaker gnome — match four in a row. Match it to blast a whole line.
• Mushroom Bomb — make an L or T shaped match. Match it to clear everything around it.
• Gnome King — match five in a row. Swap him with any gnome to clear every gnome of that color.

Swap two special gnomes into each other for an even bigger blast!

The buttons under the board are boosters: the Hammer bonks one gnome, the Shaker salts a whole row, and Shuffle mixes up the board. You get a fresh set at the start of every level — how many depends on your difficulty.

Tap Play, then tap the Difficulty button at the top of the Garden Path. Choose Snoozy Stroll (extra moves and boosters), Garden Party (the classic game), or Salty Showdown (fewer moves and boosters). You can switch any time, and you keep all the stars you've already earned.

There are no lives or timers, so you can retry as often as you like. Try switching to Snoozy Stroll for extra moves, use boosters on tricky spots early, and look for four- and five-gnome matches — special gnomes clear goals much faster.

The first 12 levels — the Gnome Village and Mushroom Forest worlds — are free. When you reach level 13 you can unlock the full game (all 60 levels, 10 worlds and the Grand Finale) with a single one-time purchase of $0.99 (US). No subscriptions, no ads, and nothing else to buy.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, then tap the Settings (gear) button on the home screen and choose Restore Purchase. You can also tap the golden key on level 13 and choose Restore Purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, send us a message below.

Every star you earn can be spent rebuilding the Gnome Village, one project at a time — cottages, a fountain, a windmill, a duck pond and much more. Earning badges gives you bonus stars, and replaying levels for three stars helps you build faster.

Open the Badge Book from the home screen to see every badge and exactly how to earn it. Many badges also reward bonus stars for your village.

Tap the Settings (gear) button on the home screen. You can turn Music and Sounds & Voices on or off and set the volume of each, and turn Vibration on or off. Gnome Swap also stays quiet when your iPhone is set to silent.

Your progress saves automatically on your iPhone. It isn't synced to any account, but it's included in your regular iPhone or iCloud backup, so restoring a backup to a new iPhone brings your progress with it. Deleting the app erases your progress. Your full-game purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so you can always get it back with Restore Purchase.

No. Gnome Swap plays completely offline. You only need a connection to buy or restore the full game. There are no ads, no accounts, and no sign-in.

Yes! Gnome Swap is designed for players of all ages. Salty the gnome is grumpy, but always gentle. The game collects no data, shows no ads, and has no chat or links that lead out of the game. The one optional purchase is protected by a grown-up check.
